SM’s Roster Dispute

1 April 2008, 6:17am

Further to previous advice on RailCorp’s introduction of new master rosters for Station Managers, the RTBU and ASU met with the Minister for Transport at Parliament House on Wednesday 5th March 2008.

It was proposed to the Minister that implementing changes to SM's master rosters while the Boston Consulting Group were reviewing customer service was inappropriate and Boston Consulting Group should take into consideration the role of Station Managers when recommending to the Government improved customer services.

This proposal has been under consideration by the State Government and we have been advised that discussions are being held with RailCorp and Boston Consulting Group and the Unions will be advised of a position week commencing 7th April 2008.

The Unions have requested that any further implementation of changes to master rosters be postponed to allow an outcome to be determined.

A meeting of SM's and DM's will be called next week to report on the outcome of the Government and RailCorp's determination on the use of Boston Consulting Group to determine customer service standards.

Members will be kept advised on this important matter.
