New amendments to the regulation covering drug and alcohol testing of rail workers were gazetted last week.
The Rail Safety (Drug and Alcohol Testing) Amendment (Authorised Officers) Regulation 2005 makes a number of technical amendments to who is considered an authorised officer for testing purposes.
The changes were recommended as a result of the Waterfall Rail Inquiry, and are made under the Rail Safety Act 2002.
