A Win For Transit Members
There has been one big positive outcome since the last report with members winning a dispute over rostering. Management in their wisdom decided that Rostering was on a low priority. However, RTBU member's decided this was not the case and decided to utilise the Collective Agreement's DSP and lodging dispute notices via the General Manager's fax machine. The number of Dispute Notices lodge was over 200.
The end result of the dispute was that management have changed their opinion of the importance of rosters and meetings were arranged to resolve the issue. Paul Passmore is in the process of finding a rostering "Guru" to oversee the project and develop options for the consideration of members. This is a great result and very empowering for all members who worked together to ensure this outcome.
