In accordance with the registered rules of the Rail Tram and Bus Union the NSW Branch Executive has appointed Alex Claassens to the position of Branch Secretary and Phillip Kessey to the position of Branch President. These appointments will take effect at the close of business on 8th January 2010.
Members would be aware of the great contribution that Nick has given to the public transport industry and the union movement as a whole. We owe a great deal of gratitude to Nick for his tireless efforts to ensure our union remains a credible voice and influence on issues affecting past, present and future members of our union.
Nick's leadership and planning has ensured that our union has a strong leadership team supported by committed delegates and activists.
We wish Nick and his wife Wendy a long, healthy and happy retirement and are confident that our leadership team can continue to work with delegates, activists and members to ensure we have a united front to take on the many challenges that lie ahead.
