We have received complaints from members that RailCorp are not applying a fair and reasonable approach to translations.
Members should be aware that representatives from the office of the Minister of Transport gave a commitment that members would not be unreasonably treated where their position has been impacted as a result of the reviews.
We now have complaints from members who were told that their position would remain on the day of the review only to be told by RailCorp that they would be displaced. Other examples include members being displaced where their job has been graded from SSO to DM 1 with no change of duties!
Members have also been advised that they will be required to undertake fulltime cleaning duties in a cleaning gang despite wanting to remain as a CSA.
The RTBU have constantly requested that RailCorp stop sending HR managers out to staff with inaccurate or little information. In some instances this has infuriated members where their station remained unchanged by the review yet HR Managers attended and incorrectly informed our members that they are now displaced.
The RTBU have written to RailCorp and advised them that unless ALL outstanding issues are dealt with then the implementation of Sector 1 should not go ahead. We are advising members to continue on their current rosters until all translation issues have been dealt with.
