The RTBU's Bus & Tram Division covers members employed as public bus and light rail operators in depots located in the Sydney and Newcastle regions with offices located at Redfern and Newcastle.

The RTBU Bus & Tram Division elects Executive Officers every four years who are located in each bus depot. The Executive Officers are responsible for assisting members with workplace and indudtrial issues at each local workplace while also working with the Bus Division's full-time officials to improve the working and pay condistions of members.

Sydney Light Rail
Light Rail officially returned to Sydney on 31 August 1997 between Central Station and Wentworth Park at a total cost of $65 million, with $21.5 million coming from the Commonwealth Government's Better City Program. The line was later extend from Wentworth Park to Lilyfield on 13 August 2000 at a total cost of $20 million with $16 million contributed from the NSW State Government. » more
